The types of auxiliary aids or services required for effective communication will depend on the length, complexity of the communication, and format. Basic aids or services may be appropriate for brief or simple face-to-face exchanges, while more advanced aids and services may be needed for situations such as meetings, interviews, training, or employment counseling. In many situations, questions often arise: Who chooses the auxiliary aid or service? How do we find "qualified" sign language interpreters? Who must pay for the auxiliary aid or service if the customer is working with multiple agencies?

JAN's Annual Webcast Series
Register here for any of the upcoming JAN Webcasts.
JAN Webcasts are available at no cost. JAN provides free, confidential technical assistance about job accommodations and the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Gather your employees together in a room for live, in-service training. Educate yourself, management, and other employees on disability etiquette, assistive technologies, management techniques, and the latest on accommodations and the employment provisions of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). All Webcasts begin at 2 pm eastern and are 1 hour. You must register to attend. One registration is equivalent to one login.
How JAN Webcasts Work
Registrations are for a single computer, not a person. Any number of people may participate at that computer through the single Web link provided by the registration. However, one registration allows you one login, which includes the e-mail with which you register and a password given three to five business days prior to the scheduled event. Read more about viewing a JAN Webcast.
JAN Webcast Archive / Rewind
If you missed a JAN Webcast, there are many listed in the JAN Archive / Rewind section from 2011, 2012, and 2013 with about 1 Webcast from each month.
