Deaf and Hard of Hearing
Hearing loss? Deaf? Assistive technology and accommodations make a world of difference. Topics include the different types of hearing loss and conditions. Understanding people with different types of hearing loss, and the Deaf helps staff to better communicate in public settings, especially Arizona at Work locations and Vocational Rehabilitation Resource Rooms. We provide recommendations for etiquette and resources such as relay services, assisted listening devices, mobile technology, text calls, video calls, and use of interpreters. Our presenter, Virginia Thompson, demonstrates all types of products and techniques for improved social interaction. She is an AT Evaluator for Deaf and Hard of Hearing, and also works with Deaf-Blind clients in Arizona. RSVP early for your reservation and let us know if you will need an accommodation to participate. CRC credit is available for those qualified.
