General Disability Awareness and the ADA
Professionals who work with clients who have disabilities, counselors, therapists and job developers are invited to attend a presentation about effective ways of working with people who have disabilities. This presentation includes all disabilities which may commonly incur barriers to the access of goods and services in the workplace. Simulation exercises, group activities, discussion, and handouts make this session lively. Common accommodations and ADA guidelines are presented. Assistive technology to improve access in communication is presented as provided by devices and resources in Arizona at Work locations and Resource Rooms. This session includes content about the use of mobile devices and cell phones to help communication needs. Open to Arizona at Work location staff, partner staff, RSA and Vocational Rehabilitation staff, local employers and community members who work with the public. CRC credit is available for those qualified.
