Older Individuals who are Blind

The Older Individuals who are Blind (OIB) Program helps individuals who are 55 and older with significant visual impairments live independently in the home and community. Participants are empowered and provided with opportunities to learn skills to help them optimize their abilities and experience fewer disruptions to daily activities.

Services offered through the OIB program are designed to help older individuals adjust to living with blindness.

You may be eligible for OlB services if you meet all of the following requirements:

  1. 55+ You are 55 years of age or older and have a significant visual impairment
  2. Your visual impairment limits your ability to be independent
  3. You require OIB services in order to become or remain independent
  4. You are willing and able to participate in OlB services
